Home Care Aide Classes

Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving 28 hrs. (5days) $185

Anyone giving direct care in an adult family home, an adult residential care facility, or assisted living must take this course. If you are certified you can take the "Revised Modified Fundamentals of Caregiving. Students must pass a reading comprehension test before being admitted into the class. The test will be given on the first half hour.

Students are required to attend all class dates. "Employees hired through Jan 6, 2012, have 120 days from date of hire to complete the 28 hour basic training requirement. Employees hired after Jan 7, 2012, must complete the 75 hour basic training."

Basic Training for Home Care Aide - 70hrs $390

Any long-term care worker working in an adult family home, residential care facility, boarding house or assisted living must take this course. Any person hired as a long-term care worker must be certified within 150 days being hired. This requires both completion of 5 hours of orientation, 70 hours of Basic Training and successful completion of a state certification examination. Students must pass a reading comprehension test before being admitted into this class. This test will be given in the first half hour.

Revised Modified Fundamentals of Caregiving - Self Study $45

This is a self study course. If you are an NAC, RN, LPN, OT or PT hired prior to Jan 6, 2012, you have up to 120 days after date of hire to complete this course. If you are an NAC hired after Jan 6, 2012, you do not need to take this course. If you are not an NAC, you need to take the Basic Training. You must bring your license to the test. Students should allow two hours. No Refunds once materials are sent!

Nurse Delegation Training - Self Study $45

You can come in by appointment to pick up materials or mail in payment and we will mail the materials to you. You will receive a workbook and DVD. No Refunds once materials are sent! Study the materials at home, complete the workbook exercises and take the test on the scheduled date. Students should allow for two hours.

Nurse Delegation Training 9hrs., (2 days) $45

If you are certified or registered & wish to perform delegated tasks, you must take "Nurse Delegation Training". Tasks that may be delegated are administration of medications & ointments, dressing changes, catheterization, ostomy care, blood glucose monitoring, administration of enemas & suppositories, gastrostomy feedings, etc. Students must pass a reading comprehension test before being admitted into the class. The test will be given on the first half hour.

First Aid 4hrs. $40 (CPR is not included)

A Red Cross course. It will cover bleeding control, poisons, shock, unconsciousness, stroke, burns, scalds, sunstroke, heat exhaustion, frostbite, freezing, hypothermia, strains, sprains, hernias, fractures, dislocations, bites, stings, proper transportation of injured, & other first aid issues. Card will be issued.

This class covers the requirements for Caregivers & Managers. Students must pass a reading comprehension test before being admitted into the class. The test will be given on the first half hour.
